Myomectomy is a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids which are also called leiomyomas. These are noncancerous growths that appear in the uterus. Uterine fibroids usually develop during childbearing years, but not necessarily. They can even occur at any age.

For abdominal myomectomy, it is four to six weeks, for laparoscopic myomectomy, it is two to four weeks and for hysteroscopic myomectomy, it is two to three days.

Will there be any Scar?

In case of abdominal myomectomy, there will be a scar likely about an inch below the pubic hairline but the scar eventually fades over time.
