Tubal ligation is generally a surgical sterilization procedure usually used as a method of permanent birth control. In this process, the fallopian tubes are cut and tied to permanently prevent the occurrence of pregnancy. This process prevents an egg from moving from the ovaries through the fallopian tubes and thus blocks sperm from fusing with the egg. It is important to note here that the procedure does not have any effect on your menstrual cycle. Also, tubal ligation procedures cannot be reversed once done.
