An ACL reconstruction is a procedure that is done to replace a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). ACL is a major ligament of the knee. In this procedure, the torn ligament is removed and replaced with a tendon from some other part of the knee or in some cases from a deceased donor. This procedure is performed through small incisions around the knee joint.
