To correct this deformity, a supracondylar osteotomy or as commonly referred to as ‘French osteotomy’ is done.
Spinal Osteotomy: Spine osteotomy is usually performed depending upon both the location of the spinal deformity and the amount of correction that is required. Most often, a spinal fusion may also be performed along with spine osteotomy to stabilize the spine and prevent further curvature.
Knee Osteotomy: Knee osteotomy is performed to realign the knee structure in cases of arthritic damage on any one side of the knee. The goal is to shift the body weight from the damaged area to the other side of the knee, where the cartilage is still healthy. My day to day life started to hamper, due to unbearable back pain and painful limbs. I was scared of surgery as I have never been admitted in a hospital ever before in my life.
