Cyberknife Radiosurgery

Cyberknife Radiosurgery

The CyberKnife treatment is mostly used to treat conditions such as benign and malignant primary tumors in the brain, including, but not limited to brain metastases, trigeminal neuralgia, acoustic neuromas and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).
Despite its name, CyberKnife treatment is not a surgical invention, rather, there is no cutting involved. It is a non-invasive alternative that involves giving radiation with high level of precision required for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).
This procedure is done when more invasive techniques are considered ineffective or are too risky.

More About Treatment

Eligibility for CyberKnife Radiosurgery

Location or size of the tumor
  • Patient's health
  • Previous surgery
  • Radiotherapy
  • Desire to avoid surgery
Advantage of CyberKnife Radiosurgery
  • Comfort of Patient: The CyberKnife treatment provides radiation to the skull with maximum precision that also ensures minimal radiation being delivered to the surrounding healthy brain tissue, thus ensuring patient comfort.
  • Alternative to Surgery: Treatments with the CyberKnife are mostly non-invasive and pain-free.
  • Convenient Treatment Module: CyberKnife treatment can be spread out over two to five sessions, which may result in fewer side effects
